Closet Organizers - Ending Your Storage Nightmare

A closet organizer system can bring order to a messy closet, providing dedicated storage spaces and compartments for all kinds of clothing and shoes, helping you to sort out your clutter and stay organized! Closet organizers are the perfect solution for those of us suffering with untidy closets that sometimes seem like they're bursting at the seams.

With a well-designed combination of hanging space, shelving and shoe storage, a closet organizer can help you make better use of the limited space available in your bedroom closet, so you should always be able to find that favorite outfit, without having to rummage around in a pile of crumpled clothes!

There are loads of different types of closet organizers, from adjustable ones for reach-in closets, to larger units designed to make sense of the chaos that's all too often found in big walk-in closets. Many come with several tiers of hanging rods for storing garments of differing sorts and sizes. Shelves are useful for keeping folded garments neat and within easy reach.

Other useful accessories when it comes to organizing closet space include plastic storage bags for protecting rarely-worn or out-of-season clothes from dust, damp and insects, and various types of shoe racks. Something as simple as a shoe rack attached to your closet door, or a shoe cubby, can make all the difference. You need never waste time searching for that missing shoe again!

If the mess in your closet is getting you down and you're tired of being unable to find what you want to wear, then how about you get organized? Closet organizers are easy to install, and once in place your new organized storage system can transform a chaotic closet into an oasis of neatness! A closet organizer really can make a difference and help stop the clutter piling up in the future. What are you waiting for - start getting organized today!

Forget Esoteric: How to Get Your Poetry Out of the Closet and Into a Book

Poetry is an esoteric art isn’t it? There’s no point in getting caught up in base things like publishing or pandering to an audience – it’s only the work that matters, right? Wrong.

Writing superbly crafted works of art full of gorgeous rhythms and intense insights is a magnificent thing to do for oneself, but if these works aren’t shared with others, they will disappear into the vacuum of our certain death without trace.

Of course there is always the chance that, like Emily Dickenson, your masterpieces will be found in the desk drawer post-mortem, but the chance is higher that if and when they are found, they won’t be that good, since you won’t have gone through the wonderfully stringent process of refining, grouping, and structuring that publication involves, not to mention the opportunity of working with a professional editor.

The poet has a responsibility not only to his or her art, but to the world, to publish, and to have publication as an end goal for the work.

That’s easy to say, but how do you get your poetry published as a collection? Getting a chapbook or full length poetry book published isn’t easy, but it isn’t that hard either. Because small collections like chapbooks are cheap to produce and often have a small price tag, it isn’t all that difficult to sell them either. There are a few tricks though.

Group your work into a common theme: In his great guide to publishing poetry, Poet Power Thomas A. Williams (Sentient Publications, 2002) says that poems “should treat a subject for which there is a market”. On a worldwide basis, there is likely to be a market for almost anything as long as it is thematic. One of the key ways to get a collection published is to work within an overall unifying theme.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to write to a theme at first. But you might find yourself attracted to a specific area which will ultimately form your framework. For me, I found myself increasingly making use of Quantum Physics and Astronomy, and a number of my poems seem to pivot around that.

For example, one of my poems, “Betelgeuse” used the impending (in star terms) and dramatic explosion into a Supernova of our closest star after the Sun for an impending nervous breakdown in a loved one. Once I had decided to produce a full collection, I began to read journals like New Scientist and whenever something caught my eye (and many things did), I would use that as the basis for a poem. I set myself a goal of two poems a week and before long I had enough poems for a collection.

Find a publisher who is looking for work on a theme and write to it. If you don’t seem to be naturally gravitating towards a theme, look for one. What hobbies do you have? Since getting a pool, I’ve become so “smitten” with swimming that I bought a wetsuit to keep going through the winter. When I saw a publisher calling for sports poetry, I wrote a couple of swim poems, and then sent them a query with those poems, asking if they would be interested a book which involved me interviewing professional sportspeople and then writing an original poem for each sport to go with the interview.

I haven’t heard back from them as yet, but it’s a concept that could work for any publisher, on any topic. Just find a call for submissions on a specific concept and build a query or series of poems around that. Another publisher friendly theme is to write about where you live, and submit the work to a local publisher. There are probably a lot of poems about Paris or New York, but what about Morebath, or Poughkeepsie? You’re sure to find something historically interesting, and the local council and libraries will probably buy up your first print.

Periods in history are also good. I read a wonderful book of poetry based on Walt Whitman’s Civil War Years -- Karen Knight’s Under the One Granite Roof. Pick a period in your own history and write a series of poems around that topic. The possibilities are limitless, and its so much easier to let your creative flow rip when you’ve got a theme to work to. Finding a publisher is also much easier, as the market for your work will be ready made.

Get Out There. Or get your work out there. Go to poetry slams; read your work, talk about your work, network. One of the nice things about publishing poetry is that pre-published poems are much more likely to be accepted in a collection than poems that haven’t been published, so you can submit each poem immediately when you finish writing it, even as you are pulling poems together into a collection.

Publishers of collections prefer poetry that has already been published. You get double benefits for your work, and increase your odds of getting a collection published every time you publish a poem. Publishers are much more likely to take on your book if they recognise your name, so make sure your name is being bandied about.

Create a Market Database Research the different poetry publishers and create a little database of those that are likely to be right for your work. Build your manuscript to their requirements and once it’s ready, following their guidelines to the letter and submit your queries.

Does this sound basic? It is! Local Writer’s Market yearbooks are excellent sources of publishers and guidelines as is the Internet – just do a Google search on poetry publishers (and watch out for the many sharks—never pay to have your work read, or published and be especially careful about anthologies!). Just remember that most legitimate poetry publishers are small and won’t be offering advances, or big margins on your work.

Nor are they likely to have a big publicity budget – you’ll have to do all that yourself, which is where your experience at reading will come in handy. One of the many upsides of being with a small house is that you get a lot more attention editorially (and the whole process of having your poetry edited is well worth the trouble of being published – it will make you a better writer). There also isn’t the dramatic time pressure that you get with a large house.

You can expect to continue selling your book for years, rather than months, and since most small publishers use POD (print on demand) technology, you don’t have to fear the dreaded pulping machine.

If all else fails (and even if it doesn’t), you can always self-publish. Get a good book, like Peter Bowerman’s The Well Fed Self-Publisher and do your own thing. Again, chapbooks are inexpensive to produce (most are around 32 pages) and can be done primarily with a good computer and colour printer and if you keep your costs down and use an easy payment system like PayPal, you might even make some decent money along with your good name.

Two key points with self-publishing – don’t sacrifice the editing step – good editing can make or break a collection and a badly edited collection won’t do your name any good at all. Hire someone to knock your good poems into great poems and help with the ordering, structuring and linguistic power.

The learning curve is a bonus, since a good editor will most certainly improve your writing for future collections. Don’t sacrifice quality either – get good paper, good staplers, a beautiful cover, or use a good printer to get a nice looking collection. You will certainly be judged by the look, and feel of the collection, so the output is something you shouldn’t skimp on.

That’s it. Don’t let a fear of failure stop you. The only way to publish a collection of poetry is to set a goal and work towards it, at whatever pace your schedule allows. Poetry is particularly suited to this method, as it doesn’t take that long to write a single poem and the satisfaction of completion comes regularly as you’re building the collection. Good luck!

A Closet Design For Every Purpose

If you’re tired of the way your closet looks, it’s time to consider your closet design, or lack thereof. Closets of all types are magnets for disorganization, and adapting a new closet design can help eliminate the clutter. You can even build your own closets and pick your own closet design in a laundry room or on a bare wall, as this article will explain.

If you fold and hang laundry while you’re in the laundry room, Home Depot sells many items that will make this task easier for you and your family. One option is the Configurations by Rubbermaid, which is essentially a custom closet in a box. Configurations is a low-hassle, easy assembly closet design that fits closets between 4 ft and 8 ft wide.

If your laundry room has a solid wall that is this size, it could easily be installed in your laundry room to give you a place to hang and sort your laundry. Instantly, you will have 10 feet of hanging space and 14 feet of stacking space right in your laundry room.

For a unique closet design in your bedroom, Home Depot also carries a large line of ClosetMaid items. A popular item is the 8-in-1 closet organizer, which fits closets between 5 feet and 8 feet. The organizer can be assembled in 8 different configurations and offers ample shelving space as well as closet rod space. Depending on what you need from a closet design, the 8-in-1 organizer is guaranteed to give you more closet space and make your entire closet system more efficient.

If you are cramped for space in your linen closet, Home Depot’s ClosetMaid line also includes storage items such as the 10-runner drawer kit. This item is portable, making it ideal for extra towel storage.

Drawer kits are also great for a child’s closet design, as they are ventilated and easy to access. Another idea for your linen closet design is ClosetMaid’s 3.5 ft Closet Wall Stack Organizer. This item takes up a very small amount of space and works well for folded articles, such as towels.

Home Depot’s ClosetMaid 6-pocket canvas Garment Organizer is a great way to hang up folded items. This closet design solution can be used in any type of closet, but is particularly useful in bedroom closets. The Garment Organizer hangs on the closet rod and has drop-down storage cubicles, perfect for undergarments, accessories, hats, or anything foldable.

If you’re come to the conclusion that the only way you’re going to have a successful closet design is to eliminate some of your items, think about purchasing a Shelftrack?

4-Shelf Organizer. Only 4-feet long, this attractive item looks great in any part of your house, not just as part of a closet design. It is ideal for storing those photographs, knick-knacks, and everything else that you have shoved into the back of your closets and forgotten about. This versatile item is easy to install and easy to rearrange, making it a must-have purchase during your closet design agenda.

A Walk-in Closet Of Your Very Own

What girl does not dream of having her very own walk-in closet? A room where she can be surrounded by all the things she loves: clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories. It is a bit of heaven on earth. While most dismiss the thought of having their very own walk-in wardrobe as an extravagance that they could live without, walk-in closets may be practical, affordable and easy to set up in reality.

Setting up a walk-in closet requires a lot of patience and requires minimal technical skills. In fact, the most important skill you would need in setting up your own walk-in closet is your measuring skills. The first thing you need to do in setting up your walk-in closet is not necessarily measuring the area where you want to set up your walk-in closet.

The first thing you have to do is make an inventory of all you clothes, shoes and accessories. This will give you a good idea of the size of your shelves, the length of your clothes rack, and the amount of space that would sufficiently house your closet. Only after doing this can you start measuring the area for your closet. After getting the dimensions of your walk-in closet, you can draw a layout of how you want your closet to be.

Once you have a good idea of what you want your closet to look like, shop around for closet components or systems that suits your aesthetic taste and your budget. You can go as high end as wood components or closet systems or as cheap as wire mesh components or closet systems.

All types of closet components or systems in the market today work fairly well differing only on the look and feel of the material. Just bear in mind that they have basically the same function. You can install the closet components or closet systems yourself to cut back on costs. Most, if not all, closet systems and components come with easy-to-follow installation guides or manuals.

After setting up your closet system or components, you can install other furniture or fixtures that would make your walk-in closet look its best. You can paint your favorite shade on your closet components or system, as well as the closet's walls. You can also replace existing lighting with halogen or incandescent lamps that tend to flatter your skin tone.

You may even want to think about setting up a full-length mirror or a vanity in one area of your walk-in closet. An ottoman in the closet is also a good idea. It serves as additional seating space and doubles as a place where you can lay out your clothes. If you really want to pamper yourself, you can add an area rug or fill the entire space with wall-to-wall carpeting.

Don't forget about storage. There are many storage containers to choose from. They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and materials. These storage containers are very important items to have in your walk-in closet because they keep clutter at bay. They make everything easy to organize and store.

The next time you find yourself dreaming about your very own walk-in closet, take action and build it. It is easier than you think.

Too Many Decades In One Closet

I consider spring clean up season, a part of my new year resolution to organize my life. Today my chore is cleaning up my image, well at least facing my closet head on.

After a strong cup of coffee I open the louver doors of my walk-in closet with a sense of ceremony that turns quickly into a sense of hopelessness. My closet is a mish mash of this and that, pieces of color and texture so different from one another yet each piece in its time an exciting treasure. Each garment is an individual find for its array of colorful attributes, comforting stylish textures and dynamic details. All acquired without regard to necessarily combining in anyway.

I am about to make a stab at cleaning up while facing up to a new era of myself as a mature woman. So many possibilities of transformation and one realization . . . that a new time of my life is upon me, a simple time, less formal, more carefree, with a shifting, changing figure and an altering image of myself.

I am in a new era of liberation completely over the idea of being a slave to trends. But still acknowledging trends set by a youthful standard, with an appreciative nod and maybe a purchase, thereby avoiding that dreaded look of an aging dowdy matron, which is so not me.

Looking back at each era gone by, I see a distinct image of myself struggling to keep pace with the fashion world. First it was all about looking great to feel good, often working against my profile and happily sometimes very in tune to what statement I was attempting to make within the fashion structure of the time. In the beginning, clothes could be fitted like a glove on my young, vibrant in-shape body, while diaphanous fabrics making a very decorative statement exploiting my sexuality. Clothing was my identity. Next, it was about preoccupation with fashion itself, spending more money when there was precious little to spare, fueled by ambitious desire and very little logic.

Dreaming of a retrospective of my personal world of fashion sends me into peals of uncontrollable laughter.

In approaching this chore of cleaning up the clutter of my closet there will be no room for sentimentality. Sorting through the past trends that once represented me, modern, artsy, bohemian, provocative, freewheeling, outrageous, elegant and sometimes classic; they are all happening here in my walk in.

Pragmatically, I gather colors together and separate by type. After some time it appears that, well, things are sort of sorting out, but ‘ugh’ this is not to be an easy task of dispensing clothes. I remember wearing this geometric wool patched comme des garcon skirt at some fun art openings with my black enigmatic puzzle sweater by Ann Demeulemeester , and wow this magical silk Shanghai Tang jacket always made me feel exotic and alluring.

I need to assert my sense of new self and envision what that means to me.

Following my instincts…out with all patterns…with of course, an occasional exception.

Anything over 2 years old and definitely everything that hasn’t been worn in the last two years. Out with the pouf. They are just taking up space and I know of some charitable groups, like Dress For Success that gladly accept a generous donation.

My new look should define the changing me; confident, sophisticated, smart, calm, comfortable, relaxed, organized and uncluttered with my sense of femininity. Paring down what I do have to basic colors, and a narrow focused collection that is void of unnecessary detail yet retaining a style and functional design with inspired elegance, changed only by the seasons.

I adore the movement of fabric, movement with free reign, fabrics hold such chance for elegance along with comfort and style.

And keeping alive a bit of free-wheeling love of adventure by taking fashion risks with a touch of subtle ethnic.

After the morning spent reminiscing about my clothes and their relationship to my life, reality nudges my illusions and hope of some form of transformation stays aloof.

Thank my lucky stars for friends, in this instance, a friend, who brought me a divine lunch and a fascinating book, “Nothing to Wear?: A Five Step Cure for the Common Closet” by Joe Lupo & Jesse Garza

I think I’ll spend the rest of the afternoon curled up in my reading chair.

Closet Doors

The closet is a must have for any home to provide that extra storage space. In addition to giving you more space to store things, the closet also makes a good addition to the overall décor of a room. Closets nowadays come in many shapes and sizes. The closet organizer system opens a whole new world of possibilities in organizing storage.

To start off with, unless you purposely do not want one, all closets have doors. The function of the closet door is twofold. The first function of a closet door is to keep your belongings inside an enclosed space, hidden from view.

A closed closet door will give a sense of organization in a room. The second of a closet door is to act as part of the overall decoration of a room. Since the front of a closet is mainly made up of the doors, choosing the right look for your closet door can do wonders for your room.

If space is tight in the room, than the folding closet door would be a good way to go. You will have access to all the space I your closet without having to make room in front of the closet for the doors to swing open. A good set of folding closet doors would come with a set of door rails that allows smooth movement of the folding closet doors.

You can attach a lighting system to the folding closet doors so that the lights inside the closet will come on when you fold open the doors.

To have the closet be part of the room accessory, siding closet doors could be fitted. You would need to reach a bit to get to the items on the sides of the closet but the sliding effect of the closet doors gives the room a sophisticated look.

If you are blessed with a huge room, then you can have the sliding closet doors slide into the wall to open up all the closet space. You could even motorize he doors and open them by remote control.

If you don’t have a huge room, the closet doors can be of help. Install closet doors with mirrors and the mirroring effect will give you a sense of space. You can install mirrors in any kind of closet door. You can choose between half length mirrors or full length mirrors to achieve your desired outcome.

Entrepreneur Idea - One Idea, One Million Dollars

Exponential money generation is an old idea. Barely noticed by the average person, it is still the single most utilized concept by rich Entrepreneurs the world over.

When we put an amount of cash in the bank, the bank will offer us an interest payment for the use of that money usually in the range of 5-10% depending on the current level of the over night cash rate. This passive income is very useful on a large scale. For example a person with $10 million dollars would be offered quite a bit more for the use of that sum however, at 7% the annual return is around $700,000 per year. That is a very useful sum to be able to utilize as discretionary income. Indeed one could live very well for the remainder of their lives with such a comfortable return simply by keeping their money with a bank.

The problem for most people with this desirable mechanism is that they don't have $10,000,000 in the first place. They don't have nearly that much.

So the question becomes how to get it in the first place so money can be a concern of the past so we can get on with the more interesting activity of living.

If we put $10,000 into a bank account and watched it grow exponentially at 10% we would at the end of 10 years be underwhelmed by the results. We would be the proud owners of $26,000 Not bad, but certainly a long time to wait and not a particularly useful amount of money.

What if we tried 100% The result would be more astonishing I assure you. In ten years at 100% we would have over $1 million dollars. OK this is getting fun. Lets try 500% how long would it take for it to get to $1 million dollars at 500%? About 2 and a half years.

What about 1000%? around a year and a half.

What about if instead of annual we focus on monthly? But the second question is where are we going to find someone willing to pay us 100% per month for example. Nobody wants money that bad that they will be crazy enough to offer that sort of compounding. Or will they?

Exponential money generation is a concept that deals in found or created excess intrinsic value. Is the value of a dollar note any different to the value locked in the $1 dollars worth of chocolate you just bought? No, its exactly the same. Except you can consume the chocolate but you can't consume the dollar note. So the chocolate actually has more worth depending on circumstances and needs.

The point is that its value that we all want and need. Money is a numerical commodity that helps make value portable. But here is the thing that makes exponential money generation so lucrative. When value is stored in investment objects or assets, its measure is generally a perception. Unlike value when its stored in money itself, which because its numerical, it can be counted and has a fixed number that everyone can see. Would you swap $1000 for $582? You wouldn't specifically because you can see without difficulty that the trade is uneven. In fact you can see to very fine levels indeed. Even $999.99 is not a fair or even swap for $1000

But what happens when you trade value in the form of an object for value that is in the form of money? Emotions and human perception has a large role to play.

You can definitely make a 100% return on your money per month if you so choose, this is the typical way entrepreneurs make their fortunes fast. Whether trading in boats, luxury cars, precious stones or property, the concept remains the same.

One million dollars in for example 12 months is not only possible but its quite likely using money leverage. Anyone can do it starting with virtually nothing. Its the decision to try that generally stops the non-believers.

Why Getting Bedroom Closet Organizers Is A Good Idea

Closet organizers really can make life much simpler, especially if you spend a lot of your time in a rush looking for things!

Decorating a room can be hard work, but once it is finished it can look fantastic. It could be that you have spent hours doing your home up just the way you like it, but after a while things can start to look extremely tatty and that is when you consider redecorating.

Perhaps you have kids who throw their toys everywhere? Or perhaps you have a lot of clutter around the home and it can start to ruin the overall look and style of the home. By having some sort of organization around your home, you can restore it back to the way that it used to be and also you will be able to move comfortably and enjoy your surroundings again.

If you have a closet this can be such a great way to keep things a lot more organized. The problem is that a lot of people who do have closets simply just throw a lot of things into it, until it is completely full. This may get rid of clutter on the floor, but what happens if you want something and it is buried underneath a huge pile of clutter? By organising your closet it can be a lot easier to get to things, whilst allowing you to have a tidier home too. For instance, you may have a hoover and an ironing board which are used quite frequently and you will need easy access to them. If so, a closet organizer could be what you need.

Using a Bedroom Closet Organizer to Keep Things Simple

If you have an extremely hectic life then the prospect of getting rid of clutter on the floor can be a daunting task. When you cannot find whatever it is that you want, it is simpler to move everything out of the way and simply put it all in the closet without thinking. However, that leaves no chance of you finding what you are looking for the next time that you go into the closet and so it can make things a lot worse for you in the long run. However, there is help available and it comes in the form of a bedroom closet organizer.

A bedroom closet organizer can help you to keep the clutter organized. You can either buy or make some shelves in the closet and instantly you have somewhere that you can put things, rather than on the floor. This will free up some more space on the floor and that would allow you to even place a shoe organiser in there.

You could also fit in some drawers or make a little cupboard to put in the closet. All of this is a great way to organize the things in your closet and to make it easier to find whatever you are looking for. The benefits of using organizers for your closet are plain to see, so with a little time and effort it can really help to save you time, especially if you are someone who is always in a rush.

If you are stuck for ideas, you can look on the internet to see what you can use to organize your closet a bit better. If you are creative and good at DIY then there is no end to what you can put in there, it will all be down to your own personal taste.

How a Closet Dehumidifier Can Save You a New Wardrobe

Unfortunately closet dehumidifiers are something people dont think about until its too late and the damage has already been done. Unless you are one of those proactive people that has seen the damage damp and moisture can do to clothes. Closets can be a breeding ground for musty smells and humidity and the only way to protect your clothes is to regularly aply the right type of dehumidification technique.

In most cases, closet dehumidifiers do not need an electric outlet in order to function. Many of them use gels, salts, or other moisture absorbing materials to absorb moisture straight out of the air. Eventually, the material will become saturated with moisture. When this happens, most closet dehumidifiers are made so that you can either set them in the sun to dry out or plug them in and let them discharge the moisture.

On some models there is an indicator window with special "moisture meter crystals" that change from blue (when dry) to pink (when wet) to indicate when the unit needs to be "re-newed". The unit will adsorb approximately 6 ounces of moisture (depending on humidity levels this should take between 3 - 8 weeks). Once the moisture has been adsorbed it cannot leak or spill.

Installation of closet dehumidifiers is very simple. Usually you will get brackets or rungs you can mount the device on and it will just hang there and do its thing. Some people even buy several and mount several on each wall of the closet to maintain an even coverage of protections around the closet. Just hang the unit in a closet, or you can place it in other small enclosed spaces, and it will start to adsorb moisture. There are no batteries required nor cords to plug in, the unit works without power.

They do not appear to be too expensive to buy but whatever you pay will definitely be worth its and more for the preservation of anything in your closet and also the structure of the closet itself.

As you can see, closet dehumidifiers are something that is often necessary for the preservation of property and home. The good news is that they are widely available and many makes and models. You definitely have to find the one you like, buy it, and put it in your closet by the specifications of the manufacturer. The result will be a more hospitable closet for your storage needs and will save you buying a new wardrobe every year.

Get More Closet Space In Your Bedroom

Everyone can use more closet space, but how do you increase your bedroom closet capacity without adding an addition or taking away from the space in your room?

One way is to get better organized. A good closet design, can take a clutter stuffed closet and make it seem more roomy. With the right design, you'll have plenty of places to store your clothes, shoes, hats and other accessories. Plus, the best part is that you'll be able to access the clothes easily and they won't be all smooshed together and wrinkled.

If your closet is simply a pole that reaches from end to end, then you simply must revamp it! With some clothing specific furniture, you'll be able to get more organized and avoid the frustration of pawing through the closet searching for what you need. Of course, you must take accurate measurements and scour the stores for the perfect closet organizing system for your closet. Take care not to buy one that is too big, or too small for your space.

If you have money to burn, there's some great pre-made bedroom closet designs which are made from nice wood and can be installed in your closet. There's also some similar modular design components made from less costly materials that can do the same trick. Make sure you buy materials that will be sturdy enough to hold your items and last the test of time.

When selecting the modular pieces for your closet and creating the overall desingn, you need to think about what type of clothing you have and which items you wear the most. Do you have tons of shoes, but not a lot of shirts? Then you'll want more storage units for shoes. If you have a lot of hats, scarves and purses, make sure you design in storage space for those. Your bedroom closet design should be customized to the types of clothing and accessories you own.

Have you always admired that walk in closet your best fried has? Well you don't have to have to have a big walk in closet to get lots of storage space! You can buy design units for reach in closets and, of course if you have a huge closet you can even buy islands that go in the middle of the closet for extra drawer and folding space!

There's different modular units you can purchase to organize your closet and there's a different unit for almost any type of clothing or accessory you can think of. Some of the units you can select from include:

- Shoe Cubes - individual cubes fit your shoes perfectly so that you can easily see what shoes you have and select the right ones.

- Tiered Tie Racks - tiered rods display your ties individually without taking up too much space. Makes selecting a tie a snap.

- Drawer Units - a small bureau inside your closet provides drawer space for those little things you don't want to leave out in the open.

- Shelves - for folding sweater and jeans or holding purses, hats or what have you.

- Slide Out Bins - integrate your laundry basket into your closet - use slide out bins to store dirty laundry, then simply slide them out and bring down to the laundry room on wash day.

How much space can you gain? You might be surprised to learn that a well planned design can double or triple your closet space! Using stacked rods for those shorter items can help you get twice the amount of closet out of the same space and other units help to organize and store accessories in stacks leaving you with lots of closet space to store those new clothes and shoes!

How To Relieve Stress By Organizing Your Closet

In today's world things are stressful enough without adding to that by getting agitated every time you go into the closet to try to find a certain outfit or pair of shoes. When your clothes are kept in a jumbled mess, it is difficult to find anything and when you do, it might be all wrinkled! Just this one simple thing can increase your stress level as you're getting ready for work.

Luckily you can eliminate this one stressful on in your life by simply organizing your closet. Keeping your clothes organized and at hand will probably give you some more time in the morning as you're getting ready for work as well. Here's some things you can do to get your closet organized.

Get An Organizer System

There are many closet organizers on the market that have shelves, drawers, bins and hanging systems that allow you to double your closet space. Some of these look like elegant pieces of furniture and can be very expensive. Others are simply made out of metal and less costly. If you were really on a budget you can buy canvas hanging shelves and shoe racks to organize your clothes.

When you're designing an organization system for your closet, you need to beware of the types of clothes that you have. Do you have a lot of shirts? Maybe you are overrun with pants? Or perhaps, your closet is flooded with ties? Once you can answer these questions, you will know which types of units to buy to get your closet better organized and free up some space.

Organize Your Clothes

Having a good closet organizer system doesn't necessarily guarantee that your clothes will be organized, that part is up to you. In order to organize your clothes, you need to have some sort of system. You can hang them up by color, or by frequency of wear. If you set up a system like this, it will be easy for you to put your clothes away as you will know right where to put them.

Develop Good Habits

Keeping your closet organized and stress-free is simply a matter of developing good habits when handling your clothes. Always be sure to put the clothes in the laundry bin after they are worn, and when you get them back from the cleaners or out of the dryer, hang them up in their appropriate spot right away.

Keeping your closet organized may seem a simple thing, but it's the little things that add up to a stressful day. If you can eliminate some of these little stresses along the way, it can go a long way to making your day as stress-free as possible.

Walk-In Closets Basics For Every Home

Most new homes now come with walk in closets and the bigger the closet the bigger the "Wow" factor. Women seem to love a big walk in closet while men don't seem to care that much. If your home doesn't have a walk in closet, it might be time to start thinking of getting one.

All the expensive houses now come with master bedroom walk-in closet designs that are creative and big. Some of these closets are as big as a room used to be. If you choose to put a walk in closet in your old home, it may be a bit expensive because you will probably have to tear down a wall or too. There will be a monitary benefit when you sell your house, however, as your new walk-in closet should increase the value of your home.

When you have a master walk-in closet that two people use, it is important to try to have the best his and her closet organization as possible. As long as you can come up with his and her closet ideas that will satisfy both parties, there will be no hard feelings or animosity.

If you have a big walk-in closet then you definitely need good lighting. And if you have one of those really big walk in closets with maybe an island or a chest of drawers or something similar, you need to find some neat closet lighting ideas.

Track lighting is always cool looking and you might be able to put it in your large wak in closet. You can find some good deals on track lighting at Ikea and other places and if you set it up properly, your closet will be stunning.

Florescent lights are most often used in closets because they are cool (not hot). Electrical codes have distance requirements for all light sources (except LEDs that also run very cool). Closets usually have a lot of things in them with low ventilation that could easily catch on fire from an incandescent or halogen bulb. Luckily, we are talking about a large walk in closet so you will be able to use something other than florescent lights or the usual ugly light that all closets seem to come with. Just make sure you don't have any of your clothes near the lighting.

Walk-in closets are also great because they give you so many more closet storage options. If you have a problem with your junk piling up in your room, you can have it pile up in your closet instead which is better for appearances sake.

Depending on the size of your walk in closet, you can have many things in there in addition to all your clothes and shoes. Some walk in closet ideas have full length mirrors in them and even a small bench or island to make them feel like dressing rooms.

Closet Organizers: Maximize Your Closet Space

A Closet Organizer is an accessory that you can put in your bedroom closet to help you get things organized around the house. Belongings like shoes, bags, clothes, and other items can be put away nice and orderly to make your home look more spacious and clean.

You can use a closet organizer almost anywhere in your house - bathrooms, existing closets, coat closets, and more. So when exactly do you need to use closet organizers?

You will notice a need for closet organizers when you have more stuff to store but seem to run out of places to put them. The job of a closet organizer, is to help you maximize every inch of storage space that you have. For example, you might have a closet filled with luggages. But luggage bags tend to come in countless different shapes and sizes. So now, there are huge gaps in between the luggages that are left unused. To help get things organized, you can make full use of these gaps by installing closet organizers. Now you can store tons of things in the same closet, in a way that you never dreamed possible.

There are all sorts of types of closet organizers. There are complete closet systems that come included with rails and racks, and there are basic systems like wire closet organizers. Picking out the right closet organizer relies on several factors.

Of course, the first thing to think about is the general look of your closet. You want to choose something that matches with the existing look, almost as if your closet organizers came with your closet. If the closet organizers appear too out of place, that might spoil the design of your closet.

The next thing you need to consider is the layout of your closet. Use this as an opportunity to think about how you can maximize the use of space within the closet. When you have a concept of where everything goes, it's easier to locate the right set of closet organizers.

Also, you need to be mindful of the weight issue. What are you placing on the shelves? If you are going to put something heavy on the shelves, especially if it's for a long duration of time, perhaps it's smart to shop for a brand that is known for reliability.

Closet organizer brands that are known to be more reliable, in most cases, have their products made out of higher quality materials. Therefore, they are more durable, and do not fall apart easily. But if you are looking just for something just to get your belts organized, then durability might not be as important.

In conclusion, remember that there are no absolute rules to closet organization. Many people have been able to organize their closets using exclusively Do-It-Yourself (DIY) systems. Know that closet organization is all about using rails, shelves and racks. If you have an understanding of how to get this equipment to fit neatly into your closet, you can always try doing it yourself. Being able to do it yourself affords you a ton of control over how you want to organize your closet. So don't be afraid to give it a try.

Make a Statement With Glass on Closet Doors

Whether it's the closet in your entrance or in your bedroom, you can make a statement with glass on closet doors. The glass you have on the closet doors could be mirrors that make the area seem larger. It could also be an additional mirror for you to use to make sure your hair and clothes are just right before your decide you're all ready to go out. Glass looks great on any type of wood and with any color walls, so it is truly versatile when it comes to home decorating.

When you decide that glass closet doors are the ones you want, you can have the glass the full length of the door or only part way down the door. This glass is usually not clear glass, like you would have in a window because you don't want to be able to see inside the closet through the door. You can also choose many different designs in doors, such as bifold or pocket doors. The glass doesn't have to be a mirror as it can be opaque or frosted - just to give the door and your home a distinctive look.

If you are not sure what such a door would look like, you will see many examples when you look in home improvement magazine and search online. Retailers have pictures of various doors to help you make your decision. They also have descriptions of each of the products and the specifications of the glass. You can also see the wide selection of hardware that you can get for the doors.

If you have a particular design in mind for the glass you want to have on the closet doors, you can have it custom made. Some of the choices you have include beveled glass, plexiglass, lexam, and tempered glass. It is best to see what each of these glass types look like on a door before you place your order. You also need to have the correct measurements to make sure the doors you order will fit the opening.

The Benefits of Closet Dehumidifiers

If your clothes are getting moist and musty, and stretched out or otherwise deformed as a result, the closet or cabinet they’re hanging in is too humid.

Most closet dehumidifiers are wireless and use salt, silica gel, or other material to absorb moisture out of the air. When they become saturated, you either change the material or discharge it. All you have to do is set, hang, or mount the unit in your closet, and presto! The result is less humid air.

You can renew closet dehumidifiers by doing one of two things, depending on the manufacturer’s specifications. One way is to dry the unit in the sun. The other way is to plug it into a wall outlet for a few hours. It heats up and discharges all of the moisture. Most wireless closet dehumidifiers can go at least one or two months before having to be discharged, depending on the volume of air, amount of moisture, and other factors. Be sure to discharge the unit in a well-ventilated room, or on the porch, where the water won’t just turn around and saturate another part of your house.

Some closet dehumidifiers have silica gels that actually change color as they become saturated. That way, it’s very easy to tell when it needs to be discharged.

The Right Door For The Right Closet

If you think that closet doors can be taken for granted, then think again. Picking out the right kind of closet door can make or break the overall scheme of your room. Even after fitting into the whole scheme, a closet door must be able to perform its primary function to satisfaction – that of opening up in the right manner to allow you access into the closet.

When you layout a theme for your bedroom, then your choice of furniture will have to contribute towards making the theme a success. This means that your closet doors must blend into the whole thematic feeling. If you are setting up a room that would capture the ambience of a palace bedroom, then a set of metallic bifolding closet doors will never do. A set of elegantly carved wooden ivory closet doors with decorated mirrors would blend in better. Remember, the closet doors need to add to the theme and not stand out like a sore thumb.

Colors are just as important as blending into a theme. Decide on which colors are the primary drivers of you room. These are the colors that will most likely influence your closet door color choice. When closet door type and color are properly addressed, then you can rest assured that your bedroom theme will work out fine.

The style of closet doors will make a difference to your overall space usage. Having closet doors with mirrors on them will give the illusion of being in a larger room because of the reflections in the mirror. Bifolding closet doors will allow better space usage in a small or cramped room. If you are really going for a high-tech design, then a remote controlled sliding closet door will be icing on the cake! To add cherry on top would be having the remote controlled closet doors slide into the walls. If you really need to, then you could add some hidden speakers to your closet setup to have a Star Trek door opening sound when you open your closet door.

When customizing closet doors, the first consideration should be space and the second is theme and color. Keep these in mind and you are in good shape to choose closet doors that will be less of a nuisance and more of a convenience.

Finding the Best Wire Closet Organizers

There's no doubt that you will love wire closet organizers. They are very affordable and they offer you more ways to customize your closet arrangement just the way you want it. They are also so versatile that you can use them to hold many different items besides your clothes. Here are some points to consider when you shop for a wire organizer for your closet.

Shop Choices

One of your first priorities would be to find the best store to get your wire racks and baskets. Because you are interested in greater closet storage flexibility, you would naturally be interested in wire units that suit your specific taste and requirements. The best solution is to buy from a shop with many different organizer options to choose from. You can also buy from online stores. Many of these stores will let you set your own dimensions so they can trim your racks.

Space Needs

Different people have different closet compositions. Some have more items that need folding while others require more hanging. You should pick an organizer set that will provide you with just the right number of racks and rods that you need. If no available package can fit what you want, you can always buy the parts of your organizer individually.

Sturdiness

Wire closet organizers are pretty sturdy. Some wire organizer types however are sturdier than others. One option would be to buy organizers made of hard wire that is thickly coated. The alternative would be to settle for racks that have more crossed wires.

Organizer Support Parts

Other shelf systems may be cheaper than others because they do not include some accessories. If you want better value for your money, settle for packages that include the brackets, locks, screws, bolts and poles that you will need for installation.

Design Flexibility

The most common type of wire organizers are racks that you can screw on the wall. Some manufacturers however have come up with better models that you can adjust to provide different storage space sizes and storage types. If you can't seem to keep just one arrangement, you should try these flexible models.

Coating

The traditional wire organizers come in white coats. You can however also opt to go for a chrome finish. This will lend more elegance and sophistication to your closet.

Closet Sets

Some wire racks are meant to fit specific closet systems. If you do not own the specific closet system, the racks may not fit well. Make sure the closet racks of your choice can be used for closets of all types.

Wire closet organizers are a great bargain for your money. If you choose the right set, you'll never have to worry about your closet getting constantly cluttered.

Closet Design - A Few Ideas

Making the most out of your closet space can be simple when you have a closet design plan. Before you purchase anything, you should plan the closet design with care. You will need to ask yourself a few questions before you begin the project. One of the questions you may want to ask is should there be a place to sit? If your closet is large enough, then a sitting area may be a nice touch.

You should ask yourself if you need to see yourself in a mirror. To get the full effect, you should stand three feet from the mirror, and ensure it is in a place where you can easily view yourself. A full length mirror on the back of the closet door can be part of a perfect closet design for you.

If you will want to watch TV while you are dressing, your closet design plan should put the storage area around it. You won’t be able to see it if it is not at eye level. You may also want to ask yourself if your new closet design plan should include an area for ironing clothes. When you install a flip down ironing board in your closet design, this can save you lots of space.

If you have a window near where you are planning the closet design, you should keep in mind that if you can see out, others can see in. You will want the windowsill to be at least 3 ½ feet from the ground, if not higher.

When you are browsing online for ideas for your closet design plan, you can visit many sites that will be full of tips and advice that will work in whatever closet space you have available. Whether you have a large walk in closet, or a simple place to hang your clothes, you can always make the most of whatever space is available when you have a good closet design plan. You will find all the supplies and inspiration you will need to get your project started as well as adding all the finishing touches to your beautiful, spacious closet design.

Add the Artistic Touch With Closet Accessories

Accessories of closet are items to help organize the space better in your closet in practically enabling you to use the space available therein. Using the accessories, you can avoid the problem of pulling out a shirt among many stacked one upon another in a single shelf. The whole idea behind installing closet accessories is to avoid clutter and bring a sense of organization into your life. It would not be wrong to say that without accessories, the closets would lose much of their utilitarian value. To provide an analogy- how would you feel if there were no rooms in your house but just one large area in which all the members of your family had to live? Similarly, a closet without accessories is strangely incomplete.

So, how do accessories help in making the closet more manageable? For example, hanging a necktie in the closet is of nuisance as it may invariably slip/slide away from the hanger. Rather, it can be kept folded. For this the tie racks would be appropriate to overcome this menace. One can procure a tie hanger that can hold as many neckties in one hanging space. This will be done in such a way that these neckties will be arranged in equal spaces and provide you a quick view of the necktie that you may require for any particular day. A different type of tie hangers is also available that can swing out from the closet and back in when you are done with the choosing.

When you possess a wide variety of shoes, choosing out a storage system that can accommodate these shoes will be very beneficial. This will in fact help to organize the available space even better. Closet accessories with facility to hang the shoes in the rear of the closet is also available with and without swiveling system whereby the rack can be moved back and forth as and when required to take a particular pair of shoe and swiveling back after picking the same. Purpose-oriented drawers for shoes can also be installed into the closet for easy handling/keeping in and taking out of the desired pair of shoes.

Different types of accessories are available in the market for your closet. One would do well by first planning the space before purchasing the accessories to ensure the planning is well done since a planned closet accessory will provide plenty accessible space.

A Practical Closet Design

There are many ways to utilize the space within a closet. Some ways are simple while others are extravagant. In the end, the desired outcome is always to be able to use as much closet space as possible and be able to find anything inside in an instant. This is where practical closet design is a must.

One way to beef up your closet space utilization is by adding closet organizers. These accessories are designed to assist in maintaining a tidy and organized closet. Closet organizers come in a wide variety of choices designed to fulfill your storage needs. Design types range from simple add-on shelves to specialized hangers to portable drawers. A well-sorted closet will be a big time saver on days where you need to find things quickly or risk missing the bus.

Lighting is one aspect of a closet that is quite often overlooked. Most people are contented to have either a filament light bulb or a florescent light bulb lighting the inside of the closet. What you don’t realize is that these types of light bulbs only operate on limited wavelengths of natural light. This means that there is a very good chance that picking out clothes that look nice hanging in the closet would have a different effect when worn out in natural sunlight. One way to get a better impression of your clothes in the closet is to install full spectrum light bulbs. These light bulbs operate to almost the full spectrum range of natural light. Another way is to build a skylight that opens up directly into your closet.

If you are lucky enough to own a walk-in closet then there are more options available to you. If your walk-in closet offers a lot of space in the middle, then you could install a little island in the extra space. This island can be made to act as an ironing area; a place to hang favorite clothes or an accessory booth so that picking out clothes and accessories could be done at the same time.

In the end, having simple or extravagant designs for your closet should be accompanied by a lot of practicality so that the closet will function as an optimized storage unit.

Picking Out A Closet Organizer System

Closets are designed to provide extra storage space in a home while adding to the overall décor. While closet designers do their utmost to try and accommodate all storage needs into a mass-produced closet design, the truth is that any closet you buy could a few customizations to fulfill your storage needs. With the common availability of closet organizer systems in the market today, customizing your closet’s storage space is as easy as picking out a closet organizer design that fits your needs.

If your shoes always end up in a pile at the bottom of the closet, then you could get a closet organizer system that addresses foot wear. There are organizers that let you hang your shoes off the inside of the closet doors to increase space usage. Spruce up the bottom of your closet with other closet organizer units such as stackable floor shelves or portable drawers. These units are just some of many floor units that can turn the bottom of your closet from an area of piled-up mess into an easy-to-find organized space.

Closet organizer units can present you with the option of getting exactly what you need depending on the options that you choose. For sorting out hanged clothes, several hanging bar options are available. You can do away with the old single bar that spans the width of your closet and get a multi-bar unit that caters to long clothes on one side and multi-levels of short clothes on the other. Boring shelves can be replaced with sliding shelves to allow you to stack clothing to the depth of your closet and still be accessible.

Closet organizer systems will offer you everything that you would need to optimize the storage space made available to you by your closet. If mixing and matching many different types of closet organizers is not your thing, then you can always opt for a single complete customized closet organizer that will completely revamp your closet. If you decide to get a whole new closet, then getting a custom built closet would be one way of not only optimizing closet space, but also optimizing the space where the closet will reside in.

Building Closet Shelving - The Rule of Three

Building closet shelving needn't be a chore. In fact it can actually be very satisfying to figure out what you need and then put it into place. You can either go it alone and built your closet shelving completely by yourself or you can choose to incorporate components from a ready-made system.

Either way, you'll want to remember these three rules as you put your plans into action.

Rule 1: Measure Twice, Cut Once (Twice Plus Once = Thrice!)
It's happened to me more than once that I've measured a wall for some shelves and then had the wood cut to the wrong size. It's not my sloppy measuring that's to blame, it's the walls. Check for yourself. Measure your closet at the highest point you plan to put shelving and then halfway down, and again at the lowest height you'll be using. Many times you'll get different measurements simply because the wall wasn't built exactly straight. It's easy to compensate for that but only if you know it in advance.

Rule 2: Get Advice From a Three-Year-Old
Really. If you're building closet shelving for a preschooler or older child, ask their advice and get their opinion on your design. You'll find, for instance, that a place to store dolls' clothes next to her own clothes will please your little princess. And remember that whatever you build now will need to be easily adaptable as your children grow. Make sure that there is suitable storage space for shoes, clothes, toys and sports equipment.

When we planned our first walk-in closet for the girls we made a double height hanging space. The lower bar was for clothes currently in use, so our kids could be independent about choosing what they wanted to wear. The upper level was for clothes that were either worn less frequently or which did not yet fit. As the kids grew and the hanging space needed to be higher up from the floor, we simply removed the lower bar.

Rule 3: Get Advice from Co-Closet Sharers
If your closet is to be shared, make sure you get input from your partner. In our case, I'm tall and my wife is somewhat shorter than me. When we originally designed the closet, I envisaged an even split on the vertical plane. That is to say, I would take one side from ceiling to floor, and my wife would take the other.

What neither of us took into account were the problems our height difference would cause. I can stack shirts neatly on the hightest shelf. My wife has to throw her jeans and tops up there and that shelf, as a result, is in complete disarray. In plain terms, it's a total disaster.

The solution is clear. I'm going to have to give up some of my sliding baskets and take over her top shelves. Instead of the vertical split, we're redividing the closet in horizontal terms. She gets all the low shelves, I get all the higher ones. Not exactly a perfect solution but a necessary compromise.

So, don't do as I did. Do as I'm telling you. remember the Rule of Three when building closet shelving and you should be just fine.

Walk-in Closet Organizers

It stands to reason that you more space you have, you more organized you will be. Why then, are so many walk-in closets disorganized messes? It seems that the more space we have, the more junk we have to fill it.

Walk-in closets offer a variety of design options. They can be filled with shelves for folded clothing or books. They can host tie racks, belt racks, and shoe cubbies. They can hold multiple garment racks for hanging clothes. Hooks and hang bars can also be installed to hold hats, robes, and other such items. Drawers or dressers can be placed inside walk-in closets to free up space inside the room.

Walk-in closets grant you the freedom to be creative. For example, islands and benches can be placed inside large closets to create the feeling of a dressing room.

Walk-in closet organizers can be purchased as kits from local home improvement stores and some department stores. These kits contain everything needed to design your basic closet—components, shelving, and hardware. Accessories are available separately. You may have to purchase more than one kit to accommodate the entire closet. Though assembly is necessary, it is usually relatively simple.

Closet organizer systems can also be purchased for walk-in closets. These systems usually consist of pre-assembled pieces that simply need to be installed. Most can be placed on the floor for a built-in look or wall-mounted to keep floors clear.

Another option for walk-in closet organizers is a custom closet. Though these can be rather expensive, it does allow for a bit more creativity and flexibility. Custom closets can be ordered online. You give the dimensions of the closet and the desired components and accessories. You also select color, material, and style. The company will then provide you with a drawing or diagram of the proposed closet. Upon approval, they will ship the pre-made pieces to you for installation. Local closet organizer companies are also available. Many of these will send a consultant to your home. This person will evaluate your space, your décor, your needs, and your budget before presenting his or her recommendations for a custom closet.

With walk-in closets, the sky really is the limit. Organization is truly within reach.

Customizing A Closet To Suit You

If you are in the situation where no matter what you do to your closet, you end up facing a cluttered mess, and then perhaps it would be a good time to consider customizing the closet. Customizing a closet can be done quite easily and with a very manageable budget. Storage space can be doubled or even tripled with a few well-placed customized closet organizers. Installing a couple of shelves or maybe even a full closet organizing items will change the way you use the space in your closet.

Customizing your closet begins with a well thought out plan and picking out some closet organizer items to implement the plan. Installing some extra shelves is quite handy when you need to fold away extra clothes that are out of season. One of the chief space wasters in a closet are clothes that take up hanging space that are not needed. Clothing accessories do not normally have customized storage spaces in a closet and end up being placed in awkward areas. This makes them difficult to find when needed. Adding an accessories storing unit to the closet will sort this out.

Another simple but very effective way of customizing your closet is to replace the doors. If you move a closet into a room with little space, then replacing the hinged doors with bi folding or sliding doors is a good idea. The new doors will allow a more convenient access to the pathway in front of the closet that would normally be blocked when opening a hinged closet door. If you prefer to hang on to the hinged door, then consider closet organizer accessories that utilize the back of the door. A hanging shoe rack would make shoes easier to find while freeing up a lot of space inside the closet that would normally be taken up by the shoes.

Customizing a closet to suit your needs with closet organizers is a simple and effective way to sort out your closet organization needs while making the most out of what little storage space you have.
